A Fratton based charity shop, The Potters Hands, decided to set up a new project, called ‘Know that you’re Loved’, helping local families in need with a free baby and children’s clothing bank. They applied to Fratton Big Local’s Community Grants scheme for £379, to pay for plastic tubing in which to bag the clothes.
The project met three of our key aims:
And we were happy to award them the grant
Victory Hants is a local charity which runs sport activities for vulnerable local people, and also offers support around housing related, health and other issues. They approached us for £500 funding to pay for 10 of their volunteers to receive first aid training, so that they could help run the sessions safely.
Given Victory Hants long record of working in Fratton, and the nature of their project, we accepted their bid as being above the usual £300 limit. The project met three of our key aims and we were happy to award them the grant.
